Basic concepts

Flist

The basic concept of a post regarding any topic, idea or categorization. These posts include movie titles, books, podcasts, songs, shows, albums, games, products and more. The user can add quotes, comments or descriptions to the flist. Users create a text-based flist either by searching for the corresponding book, movie, album or by adding an external link.

Links to purchase items from the online stores are automatically added to the fliist.

Item

Additional information that comes with the fliist. For a movie, for example, its year of release, cast, genre, etc is automatically generated based on the API of the world’s largest platforms — Spotify, Google Books, IMDB, Wikipedia — at the moment the fliist is saved. FLIIST is automatically connected to those databases and the information is instantly retrieved.

Collection

The key element of our platform that consists of multiple flists. For example, “The Best Movies about Italy,” “The Most Extraordinary Films of New Hollywood,” “10 Signature Collections of the Silver Age,” and “15 Favorite Doja Cat Albums” are all examples of potential flists, all based on the user’s preferences.

If a user made the list of “10 Motivational Books from Barack Obama,” anyone who looks at it can see exactly where Obama talked about a particular book by clicking on the link from Vogue, New York Times, etc inside the fliist. Selections can be edited, deleted and made private. In the latter case, they will serve as notes, much like a diary of interests.

Feed

It refers to the sequence of publications of the subscribed accounts.

FLIIST has implemented a unique feature. When displayed in the feed, users can opt to play a preview of the movie trailer or music track.

On FLIIST, the feed is accompanied by an AURA algorithm that displays relevant content pertaining to the user’s chosen interests during onboarding or following others. Unlike mainstream sites, the AURA is user-friendly, as it does not aim to hold the user's attention and generate activity at all costs.

After adding a flist to their page, users will be able to see others who have also added that flist; new communities will be born in a couple of clicks.

Notifications

Notifications come from various user interactions with content and between each other. As the platform develops, the notification functionality will expand to invite users to new interests and the option to mute certain notifications, among others.
